We're glad you're here. Discover resources, stories, and tools designed to uplift our communities and support mental well-being.

The PUENTE Lab is developing a Psychoeducation Toolkit with our community partners in Santa Barbara County. It is designed to engage underserved families in community-based mental health settings (CMHS). The long-term goal of the project is to achieve health equity for underserved families by co-developing a Psychoeducation Toolkit with community stakeholders and assessing implementation outcomes.

The PUENTE Lab Mental Health Toolkit is a research-backed resource designed to support bilingual and multicultural individuals in managing mental health. It provides practical strategies, self-care techniques, and culturally informed guidance to navigate stress, cognitive challenges, and emotional well-being. Whether you're a student, educator, or healthcare professional, this toolkit offers accessible tools to enhance mental resilience and cognitive health. Stay informed and take control of your well-being!

Our podcast was created to connect with people involved in community mental health, as well as everyday community members, to spark open conversations, break down stigma, and help listeners feel more comfortable seeking support. Our goal is to bridge the gap between science and the community, making mental health knowledge accessible and relatable. This podcast is for anyone interested in learning more about mental health, whether you provide care or are seeking it yourself.

We partnered with filmmakers to create a series called Victor Luna – My Journey into Mental Healthcare. These short films help break down myths and misconceptions about mental health and encourage people to find help when needed. Research has shown that narrative storytelling and testimonials are powerful tools for understanding MH and reducing negative stereotypes about asking for help, particularly for the Latino community. The series was filmed in both English and Spanish to make the video more accessible to families in our community.
